Since it’s nearly impossible for anyone outside of the most ardent Sony fans to distinguish between generations, it would be an absurd understatement to say that the company is conservative about altering the design of its smartphones.

However, this might alter for the Xperia 10 VII, the company’s upcoming mid-ranger. A case manufacturer on Amazon claims that Sony will be making a change this time around by rearranging its camera sensors in contrast to its previous model, which was released last year.

The two cameras are positioned horizontally on the Xperia 10 VII as opposed to vertically on the Xperia 10 VI. Although it’s not the most significant design shift ever, Sony considers it to be quite substantial.

The pictures in this post are taken from an Amazon case listing. Given the Xperia 10 VII’s late release compared to the 10 VI, which was released last June, the fact that this has been updated could indicate that Sony is preparing to release it. There hasn’t been a horizontal camera island in a long time—the 2019 original Xperia 10 was the last Sony smartphone to be sold internationally.

The specifications of the Xperia 10 VII are still unknown, which is unfortunate. When we learn more, you’ll be informed.
