Despite efforts to become more self-reliant, few Chinese smartphone makers have been able to develop their chipsets, let alone one that can compete with Qualcomm and MediaTek. The company announced its latest flagship phone, the Xiaomi 15S Pro, with the Xring O1 top-tier chipset.

Xiaomi 15S Pro:

The Xiaomi 15S Pro sports a larger 6.73-inch M8 Luminous Material OLED with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has 12-bit colours, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 3200-nits brightness. The device also has Xiaomi Ceramic Glass 2.0 protection. It measures 8.35mm thick and weighs 213g. This time, the Xiaomi 15 series also features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro has an Xring O1 SoC with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It also has a self-developed T1S signal enhancement chip.

Despite being virtually identical to the Xiaomi 15 Pro, the Xring O1 chip inside is a big step forward for Xiaomi. On TSMC’s second-generation N3E 3nm process, Xiaomi’s Xring O1 features a ten-core CPU cluster with 2x Cortex-X925 prime cores clocked at 3.9GHz, 6x Cortex-A725 performance cores clocked at 1.9-3.4GHz, and 2x Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Along with the CPU, there is a 16-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 6-core NPU.

Xiaomi 15S Pro features a 50MP f/1.6 aperture  1/ 1.31″ Light Fusion 900 primary sensor with Hyper OIS & Leica Summilux lens support. There is a 50MP Samsung JN1 115° Leica ultra-wide with a f/2.2 aperture and a 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture & OIS. It comes with a 5X 10cm Infinity Leica telephoto camera.  Again, the Xiaomi 15S Pro features the same old 32MP selfie shooter as its predecessor.

The Xiaomi 15S Pro packs a 6100 mAh battery with 120W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support. It also gets 10W reverse wireless charging support. The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, NFC, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and USB Type-C 3.2 port with X-axis linear motor. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra will sport a massive 14-inch 3.2K IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2560 x 1600p. It also supports HDR10, 10bit, and P3 color gamuts. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra has stylus support and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It also gets Dolby Vision with Eye Protection Mode.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is powered by the Xiaomi XRING O1 SoC, coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage. For extended usage, a heat dissipation system of 15839mm is also included.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra has a single 50MP main sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps. The device also has a 32MP selfie shooter and a secondary 3D ToF sensor. When an app tries to access sensitive data like a camera, a permission indicator light flashes red to help the user decide whether to grant permission.

The connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 6.0, A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, Dual Band Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi 7, IR Balster, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 15 with the latest HyperOS 2 on top.
