Samsung released the Galaxy S24 FE in October, and we’ve already heard rumours about its successor, the Galaxy S25 FE. It was initially said that the S24 FE would have the Exynos 2400e chipset. This might have turned quite a few people away from the new device.
A new rumor today suggests Samsung may instead turn to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC instead. Despite this, Samsung still appears to favour the Exynos 2400e.
When Samsung’s foundry cannot make enough Exynos 2400e chips, it will switch to Dimensity 9400. The Dimensity 9400’s performance is much better than Samsung’s chip, so we all wish it would be used in the S25 FE; however, Samsung has an advantage in that it is cheaper.
However, the S25 FE offers little else compared with its predecessor, so the chipset switch may at least drive sales a little. Stay tuned for more information on the S25 FE, as we’re still a long way from its launch.
