OPPO will launch the new Find X8 series in China on April 10. The Find X8 Ultra, Find X8s, and Find X8s+ have already been designed. Lumo, the company’s image engine, was also announced today.

Specifically designed for portraits, the Lumo imaging system features hardware and software innovations to deliver stunning image outputs. According to OPPO, this is the most advanced mobile imaging system for portraits, featuring precision-engineered optics and cutting-edge computational imaging.

It will be equipped with the Lumo-oriented imaging system, which OPPO calls the Lumo Light Condensation Imaging System (translated). With focal lengths of 15mm, 23mm, 70mm, and 135mm, it also features a super-sensory digital imaging engine and ProXDR technology.

Furthermore, OPPO claims to have used advanced packaging technology to cover the light sensor with super-crystalline blue glass. This enhancement improved the infrared cut-off rate by 81%.

The camera system has a 30% faster focus speed and a 10 cm minimum focusing distance with the two-group floating periscope setup. As part of the Find X8 Ultra, OPPO is introducing the industry’s first “Danxia” True Tone lens, which features a self-developed zonal color temperature perception system. Unlike traditional sensor-based color correction, it restores colors accurately across different zones.

Furthermore, the True Color ProXDR Live feature allows you to preview HDR effects in real-time as you capture.

Sony will enhance the Lumo imaging technology developed by OPPO. Sony Semiconductor China CEO Nobu Kimura confirmed that Sony and OPPO are not just suppliers and customers but partners in shaping the future of imaging standards.

According to OPPO, the Find X8 Ultra will have a Sony LYT-900 sensor, Danxia original color lens, and Lumo image system. We should receive more information about the series next week.
