TCL Communication, the company operating Alcatel under a trademark license from Nokia, has announced its entry into the Indian smartphone market after a hiatus. After 2018, the company did not launch a phone or tablet but continued to launch devices in some markets until 2022.
The company plans to launch devices with styluses as part of its strategy to make premium features available to a wider consumer base.
Alcatel’s India strategy includes local production, aligned with the “Make in India” initiative. The brand plans to establish a nationwide service network to support its users. A French aesthetic will be incorporated into the company’s product line, and patents will be pending or granted.
Its goal is to provide accessible technology to a broad segment of the Indian market, including urban consumers, technology enthusiasts, and those who rely on mobile devices for work and leisure.
In addition to offering a range of smartphones that combine design, functionality, and user experience, Alcatel intends to leverage its expertise in the mobile technology sector. As part of its market strategy, Alcatel emphasizes local production and customer support infrastructure.
