The launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was certainly the highlight of today’s Xiaomi event, but the company is also introducing exciting new TWS buds.

Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro:

The Snapdragon S7+ audio platform enables the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro to utilize Bluetooth, which is standard for wireless headphones, at up to 2.1 Mbps. This is sufficient for 48kHz/24-bit lossless audio.

However, these buds have a new trick up their sleeve when coupled with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra: they can utilize Wi-Fi to increase the bandwidth to 4.2Mbps, which is sufficient for lossless music at 96kHz/24-bit.

Another advantage of Wi-Fi is that it makes Qualcomm’s eXpanded Personal Area Network (XPAN) technology possible. This may keep battery usage low while extending the headphones’ range over the house. XPAN still supports high-bandwidth audio, low latency, and even features like head-tracking immersive audio. Please note that only the Phantom Black edition of the buds has Wi-Fi capability; the other two colors are limited to Bluetooth.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro has twin DACs and dual amps, powering two drivers with the assistance of Harman’s Golden Ears team. The audio was adjusted to provide better mid- and high-frequency information. Further, the frequency response falls between 15 Hz and 50 kHz.

These earbuds include three built-in microphones and 55dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which can block out strong winds (up to 15 m/s). The business claims its noise reduction capabilities are twice those of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro.

Connectivity & Battery:

Interesting battery life: It can listen continuously for up to 8 hours over Bluetooth and up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi. The overall listening duration with the charging case is forty hours. Both cable and wireless charging are supported.

The buds have an IP54 rating for protection to water and dust. They allow two pairs of buds to be connected to a single phone via audio sharing. Because the stems on the buds are responsive to pressure and touch. You may adjust the volume by squeezing them with two fingers or sliding your finger over them.

Pricing:

The Xiaomi shop in China is now selling the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro. The Wi-Fi-enabled variant costs CNY 1,500 (Rs.17,990/-), while the Bluetooth buds cost CNY 1,300 (Rs.15,990/-).
