In November 2023, iQOO introduced the iQOO 12 series in China. As the country’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone, the company launched the iQOO 12 in December.

The iQOO 13 series, its successor, has now begun surfacing online four months after its launch. Mobile China and smartpikachu have leaked details about the upcoming line.

Like the iQOO 12, the iQOO 13 will be available in standard and pro versions. According to reports, the standard model will come with a flat-screen with 1.5K resolution, while the Pro variant will have a curved screen with 2K resolution.

The display setup is the same as in the iQOO 12 series. On this front, there does not appear to be a major change. Both models might use displays from Samsung and domestic Chinese display manufacturers, likely BOE.

A notable improvement could come from the chipset. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC is rumored to power the iQOO 13 series, which boasts custom Oryon CPU cores and an enhanced NPU.

There is also room for improvement in the line’s battery life. According to the leaks, battery capacity and charging speed have improved significantly. The leaks, however, don’t reveal the smartphone’s battery size or charging speed.

The leaks don’t mention the launch timeframe for the iQOO 13 series, either. It’s unlikely that the iQOO 13 series will be released before the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is announced in October 2024.
