Xiaomi has announced the Band 8, the successor to the Band 7. Compared to its predecessor, this latest offering offers significant improvements.

There is no change in the pill-shaped module for the Xiaomi Band 8, which accommodates a 1.6-inch AMOLED display. Among its features are a 60Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness, AOD mode, and a variety of watch faces. It is water-resistant up to 50 meters.

For many years, the Band had a single strap that was part of its identity. Different types of straps (like leather, woven leather, hollow bracelet, and TPU strap) can be used with the Band 8 depending on the user’s preference. With a compatible necklace accessory, the fitness tracker can also be used as a pendant. You can also attach it to shoelaces.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is equipped with a heart-rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, sleep tracker, and menstrual cycle monitor. It measures stress levels and VO2 Max. While in boxing action, the fitness tracker features Interactive Boxing Mode, which tracks data related to somatic senses. Running Beam Mode can also measure stride frequency, stride length, ground impact force, ground landing method, and more during running. More than 150 sports modes are supported by the wearable device.

There are also built-in games on the Xiaomi Smart Band 8, including Suduko and 2048. In addition to notifications, it also provides weather updates. There is a 190mAh battery unit in the fitness tracker that is rated for 16 days of use (with AOD disabled).
