The iPhone 15 Pro will once again be more expensive than its predecessor, according to a new rumor today ahead of Apple’s iPhone 15 “Wonderlust” event. DigiTimes reports the story, which attributes the change to two primary factors.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to be around the same price as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, according to DigiTimes Research analyst Luke Lin. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max cannot be said to be the same.

According to Lin, the iPhone 15 Pro lineup will see a “major price hike” this year due to two primary changes. The chassis design has been changed from stainless steel to titanium, as well as the new periscope lens camera system. Lin DigiTimes still predicts that the iPhone 15 Pro models will be the most popular phones from this generation despite the price increase.

With the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s increased popularity, Apple is ramping up its production, accounting for the “highest share” of supply chain orders so far.

It’s not the first time the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be more expensive than their iPhone 14 siblings. Multiple reports have been published on Apple’s plans by Bloomberg and Barclays analysts. It is unclear, however, how much the price increases will be.
