Samsung recently unveiled its new Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 foldable smartphones. In spite of this, it appears work has already begun on the successor to the Flip model.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip5 with the same 12MP primary sensor as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip4. It appears that the next-generation Flip model will offer some notable improvements, especially in the photography department. GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy Z Flip6 will feature a major camera upgrade.

Samsung is currently testing prototypes of its upcoming Galaxy Z Flip6 with a 50MP primary camera. This news suggests that the company’s next-generation foldable phone will bring notable improvements over the Galaxy Z Flip 5. There are no finer details about this camera sensor or its lenses in the report. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be codenamed B6, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be codenamed Q6.

We are still a year away from the announcement of the two foldable smartphones in 2024, so it is too early to know for sure. You should take this news with a pinch of salt as it is only an unconfirmed report, so stay tuned for more updates.

Samsung is looking to release Fan Edition versions of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 next year. Obviously, we won’t see them as early as next year, but it sounds like we will see them sooner rather than later.

With the planned Galaxy S23 FE, Samsung will also be focusing more on its Fan Edition sub-brand, indicating that Fan Edition devices will be released more regularly.
