Apple’s iPhone 15 family is coming this fall. It’s still a few months away. Today we get a look at the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which launches in the fall of 2024. Apple has been widely rumored to stick with the Pro Max branding this year, but there’s a chance that will change next year, when the iPhone 16 Ultra could replace the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Here are CAD-based renders of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max / Ultra. Now you can see the size increase for the iPhone 16 Ultra, which has been rumored recently.

While the 6.9-inch screen will be taller than it will be wide, it will still be wide – the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s width is estimated at 76.7 mm, while the iPhone 16 Ultra will be 77.2 mm. While that’s at the very far end of what’s comfortable for most people, Apple keeps pushing things further.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is 159.8 mm tall, while its successor will be 165 mm tall. That’s kind of a big deal, especially for Apple, which is usually so conservative. Even the smaller iPhone 16 Pro will grow compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, but at least it’s got a good excuse – it’ll have a periscope zoom lens.

However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max already has a periscope zoom lens, so it’s not clear why the iPhone 16 Pro Max needs to be even bigger. Since the launch of the iPhone 16 family is about 14 months away, we’re sure more information will come out soon. Keep an eye out.
