A major expected innovation for the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been a new main camera, possibly based on the Sony IMX903, 1″ sensor. However, the latest industry insider tips suggest that the iPhone 15 will retain the same IMX803, 48MP 1/1.28″, Quad-Bayer camera as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

There’s also a rumor that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also use the M12 OLED panel technology it uses in its current generation, which is a bummer. The panel appears to be excellent, based on our testing, but users shouldn’t expect any crazy brightness levels or anything like that.

It should be noted, however, that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s display might not be exactly the same as the one on the iPhone 14 Pro Max because current reports claim that the new phone will be slightly shorter at 159.8 mm, as compared to 160.7 mm on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and slightly narrower at 76.7 mm, instead of 77.6 mm.

In terms of new features on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, there is the much-discussed periscope telephoto camera, which will reportedly be exclusive to the Max and not the regular Pro.

The iPhone 15 family, including the Pro Max, is also expected to have a USB Type-C port. Additionally, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a new Apple A17 Bionic on a 3nm mode are expected.
