Xiaomi has launched MIUI 14 for Xiaomi and Redmi-branded smartphones in India. Based on the Android mobile operating system, the new skin promises an updated UI design and improved performance. A new skin will debut on the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which runs Android 13. Initially, MIUI 14 will be rolled out to Xiaomi’s top-end devices in a phased manner.

MIUI 14:

MIUI 14 is optimized to make smartphones run faster. A new optimization feature is Smart ROM Optimisation, which reduces cached storage by up to 3GB over three months. In addition, system storage has been reduced so that devices with 128GB of storage can now gain up to 4GB of additional storage.

In MIUI 14, the system has been tweaked to result in a smaller boot-up memory, which speeds up boot-up. Additionally, MIUI 14 reduces RAM usage by up to 11 percent by removing 19 system apps like cameras, clocks, and messages.

It also comes with a redesigned UI, which gives the OS a fresh appearance. You can choose from 6 new wallpapers and 6 new card-style widgets. Animations are also claimed to be smoother and “friction” reduced when using heavier programs or files. To enhance the user experience, features such as copying text from a photo in the gallery, removing objects from an image, etc., have also been added.
