Motorola is reportedly preparing to launch new high-end smartphones for global markets, namely the Moto Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro, which have been rumored for some time. The Moto X40, which was released earlier this year in China and features the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, is rumored to be one of these phones. Recent reports have revealed some specifications for both the Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro models. The European pricing for the Pro model has also been revealed.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro is expected to be available in a single variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Edge 40 Pro, which is based on the Moto X40, offers three memory options, ranging from 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. According to SnoopyTech, a well-known leaker, the Edge 40 Pro is expected to cost €899 (Rs.80,000/-) in Europe, which is €100 more than last year’s Edge 30 Pro.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro:

The new Motorola Edge 40 Pro will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ 10-bit OLED display with curved edges on either side. It comes with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400p with 10-bit colors & supports a 165Hz refresh rate. The device gets in-display fingerprint scanner support & comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.

 

The device is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature a 50MP main 1/1.55″ sensor with OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide with 117-degrees FoV. There is another 12MP portrait telephoto IMX663 sensor with 2x optical zoom & LED flash. There is a whopping 60MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch.

The connectivity options include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Dual 5G support, USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 support, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. It arrives in two colors, Smoky Black and Tourmaline Blue. This time the device also gets IP68 certified making it dust and water-resistant.

All this is packed with a 4500 mAh battery with 125W fast charge support. The device also supports 15W wireless & 15W reverse wireless charging. It runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.
