Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform in November 2022. A new Snapdragon mobile platform will be announced on March 17 in Beijing, China, according to the US-based chip company. Most likely, the company will unveil the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1 processor.

Qualcomm is working on two Snapdragon 7-series chipsets, according to several reports. In the second half of this year, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC with part number SM7550 is expected to be released. SM7475 is the part number of the chip scheduled to break cover on March 17. This chip is rumored to be called the Snapdragon 7 Plus 1.

Several brands are rumored to launch Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1-powered phones in the near future, including Redmi, Realme, Honor, Oppo, and Vivo. A Redmi Note 12T Turbo and Realme GT Neo 5 SE could be the first phones to feature it. Poco F5 is likely to be rebadged as the Note 12 Turbo in the global market. This may be the first Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1 phone to arrive outside of China.

According to reports, the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1 will be manufactured by TSMC using a 4nm process.It has a Cortex-X2 prime core clocked at 2.95GHz, three Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and four Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.The chipset is equipped with an Adreno 725 GPU that runs at 580 Hz.
