Galaxy S21 FE failed to make a significant impact last year. OreXDA, a Twitter leaker, has revealed some juicy details on the Galaxy S23 FE, which could be on its way soon.

As reported by OreXDA, the Galaxy S23 FE will use last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset to “adjust the unit price.” Despite its age, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 should still offer a top-tier experience a year after its release. With an older chip, OEMs can also purchase it at a lower price, which could make the Galaxy S23 FE more affordable.

Apart from the chipset, the Galaxy S23 FE will also feature a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and some, if not all, of the Galaxy S23 series’ camera sensors. The leaks offer a glimpse into what Samsung may have in store for its FE lineup, although it is too early to draw any conclusions.

It has been uncertain what will become of Samsung’s FE lineup, but the Galaxy S23 FE, equipped with Qualcomm’s high-end chip, could signal a renewed commitment to its budget-friendly offerings. The OreXDA leaks have been reliable in the past, so there may be some truth to these rumors.

If the Galaxy S23 FE does make its way to the market in Q3 or Q4, it will face stiff competition from other mid-range offerings from rival brands. Still, Samsung’s brand recognition and loyal fan base may give it an edge. Only time will tell if the Galaxy S23 FE will be a hit or a miss, but for now, fans of Samsung’s FE lineup can rest assured that it is not dead just yet.
