Xiaomi has now introduced the much-awaited Xiaomi 12S series in China. The new Xiaomi 12S series includes Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro & Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra:
Design:
The new Xiaomi 12S Ultra will not look similar to the earlier leaks instead has some changed design. The new Xiaomi 12S Ultra will indeed come with a huge camera module on the back. The camera module occupies almost 50% of the rear portion. It features a fake leather finish on the back to give a premium touch to the device.
There are quad-cameras arranged under the circular camera module with the main Sony IMX989 at the center. The telephoto lens is placed below it and ultra-wide on the right side & with an LED flash with a depth sensor on the left. This huge circular camera module is placed under a rectangular box that has LEICA branding.
The power button with volume rockers is on the right side of the device. It comes with premium metal chassis surrounding the device. It is curved to provide a better grip.
Specs:
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra will sport 6.73 inches QHD+ Samsung E5 AMOLED quad curved LTPO 2.0 display. It also gets a 120Hz refresh rate along with a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display also supports HDR10+ and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. It is powered by SD 8+ Gen 1 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra features triple rear cameras with Sony IMX989 1 inch 50MP main sensor 1/1.2 inches having an aperture of f/1.8. It also gets SONY IMX586 48MP ultra-wide sensor with OIS along with a Sony IMX586 telephoto sensor with 5X zoom and 120X digital zoom with OIS support. It also gets Dual color temperature LED flash, Laser AF.
There is a 32MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and X-Axis motor along with Harmon Kardon stereo speakers.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra comes with IP68 dust and is water-resistant. It measures 9.0 mm thick and 225g in weight.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and 5G (Dual-Mode support), A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, Dual Band Wifi/Wifi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C port. Both runs on Android 12 with the latest MIUI 13 on top. It packs a massive 4860 mAh battery with 120W fast wired & 50W wireless charging support.
The new Xiaomi 12S Ultra will cost 5999 Yuan (Rs.70,800/-) in China.
Xiaomi 12S:
Xiaomi 12S comes with a smaller 6.28 inches center punch-hole display on the front. It gets quad-curved edges with slimmer bezels surrounding the display. On the back, we got triple rear cameras which look similar to Oppo Reno6 series-like module. Further, we can notice the mention of 50MP on the camera module.
It measures 8.6mm thick & weighs 182g. The Xiaomi 12S sports a smaller 6.28 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also gets 12-bit colors, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1100-nits brightness.
The Xiaomi 12S comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Xiaomi 12S will come with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi 12S features a 50MP f/1.9 aperture Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS support. It comes with 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 123-degree FOV along with a 5MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The device also features CyberFocus tech.
The official teaser already revealed that Xiaomi 12S will feature a 32MP selfie shooter. During the process of pixel-level skin rejuvenation, a generative adversarial network (GAN) reconstructs the skin’s details on a pixel-by-pixel basis, giving the skin a fresh and youthful appearance.
The Xiaomi 12S packs a 4500 mAh Cobalt Oxide battery with 67W fast wired & 50W wireless charging support. The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE & 5G support, NFC, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and USB Type-C port with X-axis linear motor. It also gets stereo speakers powered by Harmon Kardon. It runs on MIUI 13 with Android 12 OS out of the box.

The new Xiaomi 12S Pro will look identical to Xiaomi 12 in terms of design and comes with a quad-curved display. It measures 8.6mm thick & weighs 205g. The device got a glass back with metal chassis giving it a premium feel.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro sports a larger 6.73 inches QHD+ AMOLED (3200 × 1440p) display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also gets 12-bit colors, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1500-nit brightness.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Xiaomi 12S Pro will come with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
