Samsung finally announced its first Wear OS-based smartwatch with Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic. The new Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic will be going on sale from Aug 27. The new Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic will also land in India in the coming weeks.
Design:
The new Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic will come in two different sizes with 40mm/44mm & 42mm/46mm. Further, the Galaxy Watch4 comes with an aluminium body whereas the Galaxy Watch4 Classic with premium Stainless steel. The new Galaxy Watch4 comes with a fixed dial & the Galaxy Watch4 Classic gets a rotating dial which we saw in the previous gen.
The Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic measures 41.5 x 41.5 x 11.2 mm & 45.5 x 45.5 x 11 mm. The Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic with 44/46mm weighs 110g.
Specs:
The new Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic with 40/42 mm size sports 1.19 inches whereas the 44/46mm with larger 1.36 inches SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. Both the models get protected by Gorilla Glass DX on top.
The new Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic is powered by the latest Samsung Exynos W920 SoC coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage. Further, the device also gets IP68, 5ATM certified making it dust & water-resistant along with MIL-STD 810G.
The other features include heart rate, blood oxygen content and an electrocardiogram (EKG). Further, the Galaxy Watch4 series also comes with sleep tracking, fall detection, forecasts and recordings for the menstrual cycle and the tracking of over 40 sports activities. Not just that, the new Galaxy Watch4 series will also include body composition analysis within 15s which is nothing but detecting body fat.
The connectivity options include WLAN 2.4 + 5.0 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, 4G LTE optional. Both the Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic runs on the new Android Wear OS with One UI Watch 3.5 on top. The Galaxy Watch4 & Galaxy Watch4 Classic with 40/42mm model packs 247mAh whereas the 44/46mm with larger 361 mAh battery. It also gets calling and SMS support which is limited to the 4G model only.
Pricing:
The new Galaxy Watch4 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes and is priced $249.99 (Rs.18,700/-) for Bluetooth version & $299.99 (Rs.22,300/-) for LTE models. The Galaxy Watch4 Classic cost $349.99 (Rs.26,000/-) for Bluetooth & $399.99 (Rs.29,800/-) for LTE models.
The  Galaxy Watch4 40mm variant will be available in Black, Silver and Pink Gold & 44mm in Black, Silver and a sophisticated Green. The Classic with Black and Silver and comes in 42mm and 46mm models.
