Earlier we saw Reliance Jio almost taking the top spot in the feature phone market race with its super-successful JioPhone. We even saw brands like Nokia, iTel, Lava, Micromax launching the feature phone market then and now. Finally, the smartphone leader Samsung is all set to re-enter the feature phone race.

As per the reports, Samsung has now partnered with Dixon Technologies to manufacture new feature phones in India. Currently, Dixon Technologies is manufacturing Samsung Home products from past two years and this might be the first time company planning to make feature phones. Further, ‘There is the tremendous scope and potential in the feature phone market. We are confident that this relationship will go a long way‘ revealed Atul B Lall, Dixon Technologies.

Sadly, the new report doesn’t reveal anything about the feature phones but will confirm that the devices will be pocket-friendly and comes under the budget phone segment. With an increase in smartphone popularity, we would hardly see anyone going in for feature phones but we expect Dixon Technologies and Samsung new leadership might bring some great devices under the budget segment.
