Qualcomm the powerful mobile chipset maker has now announced the slightly upgraded flagship chipset for the second half of 2019 with Snapdragon 855 Plus or Snapdragon 855+. For the first time ever Qualcomm has launched the second flagship chipset in the same year after the SD821 SoC.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus

Snapdragon 855 Plus is much more powerful than the predecessor with Snapdragon 855. It comes with same Kryo 485 CPU cores but now overclocked at 2.96 GHz instead of 2.84 GHz. It also features the same Adreno 640 GPU with a 15% boost in performance. With better GPU it makes the best chipset powering the upcoming gaming devices later this year.

Sadly, the new Snapdragon 855+ does have the same modem with Snapdragon X50 which need to be integrated separately along with chipset and not the Snapdragon X55 which comes with 5G support. We can expect devices with Snapdragon 855+ hitting soon by H2 2019 starting from US variant of Galaxy Note 10 & Note 10+ to OnePlus 7T series and the Pixel 4 series.
