Sony earlier shared the Android 9 Pie update roadmap which promised to provide the update by end of 2018. Now Sony has fulfilled the promise and has started pushing out the new Android 9 Pie update to few of the 2018 launched flagship with Sony Xperia XZ1 series along with Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
After updating the Sony Xperia XZ2 now the company is pushing the Android 9 Pie update to its predecessor with Sony Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. Sony had promised the Android 9 Pie update for the above devices to hit by Oct 26 which never happened but just after two weeks, the company fulfilled the promise.
As per the users, the new OTA update with build number 47.2.A.0.306 is hitting the device now which has fixed major bugs. The new OTA update also brings the Oct edition Android security patch along with new Sony Camera APK which enables 1080p@960fps and HDR video modes. The OTA update also brings Andriod Pie Gesture-based navigation to their devices.
