Earlier we had reports about Sony will update the premium lineup with Android 9 Pie starting of next month. Today Sony has officially confirmed the list of devices with an updated schedule for the new Android 9 Pie update.
As per Sony, the first set of devices getting the new Android 9 Pie update include the Premium lineup with Sony Xperia XZ2, Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, Sony Xperia XZ1, Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. All the above devices are scheduled to get the update starting from November 2018.
Sony will also update a few of the mid-range smartphones with Sony Xperia XA2, Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, and Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra. Sadly Sony will not provide the new Android 9 Pie update to Sony Xperia XA1 series. The Sony Xperia XA2 series will start receiving the update from early 2019.
