Earlier Samsung stated that they are launching the industry’s first 512GB chips for mobile devices which had entered mass production earlier this month which are likely to commercialize with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Now Samsung has announced that they are developing the new LPDDR5 RAM for mobile devices which will be commercialized soon.

Currently, Samsung is making the second gen 10nm with 8GB DDR4 RAM which has entered the mass production which is likely to hit laptops and computers next year.Samsung launched their first DRAM product in 2016 which will be finalizing the design for the upcoming LPDDR5, DDR5, HBM, and GDDR6 memory standards as per Samsung, which will enter flow production in the near future. We cannot expect the latest LPDDR RAM standards anytime earlier than 2019 as it is still under development phase.

With the latest LPDDR RAM one can get 10% boost in performance and 15% more power efficient than LPDDR4 RAM.As LPDDR5 will come with smaller bit bus, which might be expected even more efficient than Desktop. The latest Samsung LPDDR5 RAM might feature speeds rates approx. 3600 Mbps per pin.
