Vivo X20 Plus UD is rumoured to be priced at 3298 Yuan will go on sale by end of Jan.

Vivo unveiled their first smartphone with under display fingerprint scanner made by Synaptics earlier this week in CES. So now Vivo is all set to launch World’s First Optical Fingerprint scanner based Vivo X20 Plus UD by end of this month in China.

The device was showcased in CES 2018 last week and also showed the demo of the so-called under display fingerprint scanner but didn’t mention the device name.As per rumours, the Vivo X20 Plus UD is already under mass-production and there are rumours of Vivo launching the device anytime soon and will go on sale from this month.

The Vivo Senior Vice President further said that the Vivo first device with Synaptic made under display fingerprint scanner will provide a seamless User experience and will work only with OLED panels so the upcoming Vivo smartphone will feature AMOLED display.

The fingerprint scanner will be placed between the glass and the AMOLED display panel so when the user touches the display the OLED panel will glow up the fingerprint area which in turn sends the fingerprint chip inside will scan the finger and unlock the device.It can unlock the device within 0.6-0.7 seconds.

Earlier the Vivo X20 Plus UD has received the 3C certification in China and also we had got some of the key specs of the device leaked.The Vivo X20 Plus UD will feature 6.43 inches 18:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display.It will be powered by SD660 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.It is fueled by 3900 mAh battery.

Samsung upcoming smartphones will use new Metal 12 series Magnesium Alloy Chassis.

Samsung launched new laptops called the Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) series which are built out of the new Metal 12 series Magnesium Alloy which is durable and super light in weight.

Now Samsung has trademarked the new Metal 12 with the European Union Intellectual Property.As per the filing, Samsung may launch future Samsung Galaxy Smartphones and Gear Smartwatches made out of the new Metal 12.

Samsung new Metal 12 is lighter than Aluminium and also give a premium feel to the device.Earlier the Metal 12 was rumoured to make debut with Samsung Galaxy S7 but it was launched with Glass chassis and Samsung will use the same glass chassis for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Samsung might use the new Metal 12 chassis in 2019 flagship smartphones.

HTC launches the HTC U11 EYEs in Taiwan

HTC has finally launched its latest mid-range device with HTC U11 EYEs in Taiwan today. After series of renders leaks, we finally have the device official.

The new HTC U11 EYEs will feature same old design as seen on HTC U11 and HTC U11+. It is built out of metal and glass and comes in three colours with Black, Red and Moonlight Silver.It weighs 185 grams and is 8.5 mm thick.

HTC U11 EYEs sports 6.0 inches FHD+ SuperLCD3 display having an aspect ratio of 18:9 protected by Gorilla Glass 3.HTC U11 EYEs is powered by SD652 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.

HTC U11 EYEs feature a 12MP rear camera with UltraPixel 3 having an aperture of f/1.7, the pixel size of 1.4 microns, LED flash, OIS and Ultra Speed Autofocus.The rear camera can shoot Full HD videos @120 fps and 4K videos @30fps.HTC is teasing that the rear camera has got DxOMark rating of 90 which is similar to last year launched HTC U11.It is having 5MP Dual Camera at the front with an aperture of f2.2, BSI sensor and wide-angle lens which comes with new Portrait mode and provides decent bokeh effects.The camera also comes with AR effects called AR stickers and also has HTC version of Face Unlock.By just squeezing the phone one can unlock the device via face unlock.

HTC U11 EYEs also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner just below the rear camera.The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and sadly no 3.5 mm audio port.It will also feature U-Sonic noise cancellation feature and Hi-Res support.

It also includes the IP67 rating which makes the device dust and water resistant and comes with HTC Edge Sense feature which was last seen on HTC U11 and HTC U11+ where one can squeeze to launch apps. The HTC U11 EYEs is fueled by 3930 mAh battery and is running on Android 7.1.1 with HTC Sense UI on top.

HTC U11 EYEs is priced at NT$14,900 (Rs.32,500/-) in Taiwan and is available for pre-orders from today until 25 Jan. The device will first go on sale in Taiwan and then other countries to follow.

Star and BCCI pull out all stops to make the VIVO IPL 2018 Retention event – an unprecedented success.

The VIVO IPL 2018 Retention event, broadcast for the first time in its 10-year history, had cricket lovers riveted across television sets and mobile devices and set social media abuzz with mentions and conversations that came close to rivalling those of full-fledged T20 India matches.

Star India’s presentation of the VIVO IPL Retention event was viewed by a massive, never-before audience of 8.1 million across both TV & digital. As per BARC data (source: BARC 2+ U+R) 4.1 million TV viewers watched the event across the Star Sports Network from 7-8 p.m. on 4th January and as Star reported 4 million watched the event on Hotstar.

On social media, the event dominated conversations across platforms with 35k mentions making the VIVO IPL Retention day comparable to the chatter during a T20 match. It was trending #1 in India on Twitter in no time at all.

Samsung will launch Online Exclusive smartphones to take on Xiaomi

Samsung is now planning to launch an online exclusive smartphone to take on Xiaomi as it most of the devices sold on e-commerce.

Samsung is all set to launch an online exclusive series which will not sell offline markets and will be priced aggressively. Samsung will launch the devices in the range from Rs.5000 to Rs.15000.

As of now, Samsung is in the second position and Xiaomi is on the top position due to its wide range of budget smartphones sold last year including the highest selling smartphone with Redmi Note 4.Samsung has also launched Online exclusive lineup with On series which are exclusive to Amazon and is planning to launch a new device this week under sub 12K segment.

Samsung has recently launched their latest mid-range smartphone the Samsung Galaxy A8+ exclusive to Amazon to tackle the Xiaomi Mi Mix which is also priced similarly.Xiaomi MD Manu Jain also told ET that most of the Xiaomi products sold Online when compared to offline markets and has a share of 50% which Samsung is planning to target this year.

Samsung already has nearly 1.5 lakhs offline shops which sell Samsung products and now Samsung is entering under e-commerce markets and doesn’t want to neglect the offline stores. Currently, Xiaomi is also growing its offline markets slowly but will take time.Samsung has also reduced the number of trade partners fulfilling the online orders from 10-12 to 2-3 now for better sales margins.

Apple will be the World’s 4th largest PC maker, sold 20 Million Macs in 2017

Apple will soon acquire the 4th position under the top PC makers list as it managed to sell nearly 20 Million Macs last year as per reports by IDC and Gartner.

Apple sold exactly 19.6 Million Macs with 13.9 Million Macs sold in first three-quarter of the calendar and nearly 5.7 to 5.9 Million at the Q4 2017.Apple sold just 18.5 Million Macs in 2016 so there is a small rise in the shipments of Macs last year.Apple has already sold 20 Million Macs in 2014 and 2015.

As per reports from IDC and Gartner HP is Worlds No.1 PC maker and sold nearly 58.8 Million units the second position is secured by Lenovo with 54.5 Million and third position by Dell Inc with 41.821 Million shipments.

With the decline in PC shipments Apple growth is considered to be impressive by Gartner.Apple will officially reveal the total number of Mac shipments made by them on Feb 1, if the reports are accurate then Apple will be making a huge profit last year.

Sony Career site reveals upcoming smartphone to feature OLED display.

Earlier we had some rumours about Sony might launch 2018 smartphones with new Mirai design and we even had some reports claiming that Sony will introduce OLED panels on their upcoming smartphones.

Now we have spotted a job listing on Sony career website which mentions the need for Display Engineer who is OLED expert for Mobile division.The job was posted on Nov 2017 and will expire on 28 Feb 2018.

Sony has already launched 4K OLED TV’s last year and might bring the same on Sony upcoming flagships soon. We have to wait for few more weeks for some more details about the same.

Asus Zenfone 5 series passes through Russian Certification

Asus is all set to launch the successor to last year with Asus Zenfone 5 series anytime soon.Asus launched its Asus Zenfone 4 series in Sept which was delayed and some models were made available.

Asus CEO has said that Asus Zenfone 5 series will be launched in early March at CES 2018 so probably we can expect it to arrive at MWC 2018 which is going to start from Feb 28.Now we have spotted the device Asus Zenfone 5 Lite at Russian certification.

Alleged Asus Zenfone 5 model probably the Lite version has now certified in Russia.As per leaks, the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will sport 6 inches display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

As per Russian Certification, the device is listed as ZC600KL where 6 stands for 6.0 inches display, KL stands for the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and will support for LTE modems.We are not sure whether the device will sport 18:9 aspect ratio display or normal 16:9 aspect ratio display at the moment.

Samsung new patents reveals upcoming smartphone to feature notch similar to iPhone X.

After Apple launching its bezel-less smartphone with notch above the display which is trending now and looks like after Chinese brands copying the design its now time for Samsung planning to launch a Galaxy smartphone with notch above the display.

So Samsung is now following the footsteps of Apple and might launch a smartphone with a notch as per patent filling.As per the patent documents, the upcoming smartphone is having a nearly bezel-less display at the front which leaves no room for sensors and selfie camera so due to which Samsung is all set to introduce the small notch at the top edge of the smartphone.

As per WIPO, the patent was filed on 3 July 2017 which were recently published on the website on 11 Jan.As the documents are completely written in Korean we are not sure about all the details as of now. But from the leaked drawings we can expect it to come with notch and will look similar to Essential PH-1.

Some more images of the drawing show a nearly bezel-less display with a notch at the centre on top of the display.As per application, the upcoming Galaxy smartphone will feature a display with an aspect ratio of 19:9.

It might also bee the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but we can even expect the notch might not be present on any upcoming Samsung smartphone as Samsung files patents regularly but we never saw anything happened in reality.

Huawei upcoming flagship will feature DSLR like camera

In the past, we have seen devices like Nokia 1020 which had a whopping 50MP camera sensor with the optical zoom which gave tough competition to DSLR cameras.Now Huawei is planning to make a similar device which will have DSLR like camera experience.

As per Interview with Huawei President Richard Yu told to Android Authority that they are planning to bring DSLR like focal length and zoom on their next flagship.He further told that AI integration with the camera is the next big thing in the world of smartphone technology.
