Back in October, a report suggested that Xiaomi had quietly dropped plans for the Xiaomi Civi 6, raising doubts about the lineup’s future. Since then, there has been little concrete information, but new leaks from China indicate that the phone is still very much in development.
Two well-known Chinese tipsters, Smart Pikachu and Digital Chat Station, have recently shared fresh details on Weibo that appear to reference the Civi 6. Digital Chat Station mentioned an upcoming smartphone featuring a dedicated AI key, sparking speculation that this is Xiaomi’s next Civi device. Although the post did not explicitly name the series, online chatter quickly linked it to the Civi 6. Around the same time, Smart Pikachu brought back an older message he had posted months earlier and clarified that he had been talking about the Civi 6.
Specs:
Another leak circulating on Weibo outlines the phone’s possible hardware. The Xiaomi Civi 6 is rumoured to feature a 200-megapixel rear camera paired with a 3x telephoto lens, while the front could house a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. The display is said to be a 6.59-inch LIPO panel with four-sided curves, suggesting minimal bezels and a more premium in-hand feel. Under the hood, the device may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, featuring an X-axis linear motor, dual speakers, a metal frame, and a glass back.
One of the standout additions is expected to be a dedicated AI button that supports remapping. This would let users assign their preferred AI tools or shortcuts to the key, potentially making it a central part of how they use the phone.
Even so, some uncertainty remains. Tipsters on Weibo often avoid directly naming the model they are referring to, leaving room for interpretation, and none of this information has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi. There are also questions about availability. Earlier Civi models, including the Xiaomi Civi 3, were sold only in China, and the Civi 6 could follow the same path. It’s also possible that Xiaomi rebrands the phone for international markets, with leaks hinting at a global launch under a name like “Xiaomi 17 Civi.”
Until Xiaomi makes things official, the full picture of the Civi 6’s specs, features, and release plans will remain uncertain, but the latest leaks strongly suggest that the stylish series is far from cancelled.
