Samsung’s upcoming XR headset aka Galaxy XR finally gets launch date.

Samsung has finally confirmed the date for the unveiling of Project Moohan, its long-rumoured XR headset and direct competitor to Apple’s Vision Pro. A new era of multimodal AI will be launched with Samsung’s Galaxy XR, expected to be commercially unveiled at the company’s upcoming Galaxy event, “Worlds Wide Open.”

Samsung Newsroom reports that the showcase will stream live on October 21 at 10:00 PM ET via Samsung.com/us and YouTube. The Samsung event will introduce Android XR, a new platform co-developed with Google and Qualcomm. According to Samsung, Android XR is built from the ground up to deliver intelligent, immersive experiences across devices, making it an open and scalable platform.

Project Moohan will be the first product on this platform, combining everyday utility with immersive new experiences. Galaxy devices are available for reservation today, along with a $100 Samsung Credit. We’ve heard this timing before: industry sources previously reported that Project Moohan was due on October 21 after an internal delay. A lighter build and higher-resolution display are expected to make the device superior to Apple’s Vision Pro.
