Google unveiled several new AI-powered features to increase productivity on Monday, along with the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, the latest model in its Chromebook lineup.
The MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, which powers the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, is paired with an NPU that can deliver up to 50 TOPS for seamless AI performance. It features an OLED display, fingerprint scanner, and Dolby Atmos for the first time in the Chromebook Plus series. It also promises a long battery life of up to 17 hours.
Additionally, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 has two unique software features fueled by on-device machine learning and intended to increase productivity.
- Intelligent grouping allows you to quickly manage several projects. It logically groups your open tabs and documents according to your current tasks.
- With just a click, you can eliminate backgrounds from photos in your library and quickly create stickers from any pictures using the Gallery app’s AI image editing feature.
- For the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, NASA collaborated to create custom wallpapers of Jupiter that depict the auroras as they emerge at sunrise, sunset, and nightfall.
- Get prompt responses with Choose to use Lens for searches: Identify and obtain information about anything on your screen in a flash. Much like a model’s shoes? Simply long-pressing the launcher (and the screenshot tool) will allow you to choose to search for more information or similar shoppable options without ever leaving your current location.
- Save time using text capture, which converts information from your photos—such as receipts and recipes—into editable text so you don’t have to type it again. You can click one button to have the details of an event invite automatically appear in a Google Calendar hold while you’re highlighting it. You can import a digital shopping list directly from Grandma’s handwritten recipe into Google Docs if you’re making her favourite pie for a family get-together.
- Use the new Quick Insert key to create images as needed: To improve documents and presentations, you can now quickly create AI images or add pictures and emojis where you need them without breaking your flow.
- Make complicated texts simpler with Assist me in reading: The “simplify” button now takes complex language and makes it more comprehensible, making dense text easier to read. Help me read 5 now does more than summarise lengthy texts.
Pricing:
As the new features begin rolling out, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 will be available for USD 749 (Rs. 64,555 approx.) on Best Buy or Lenovo.com.
