Regarding the Nothing Phone 3, Nothing has been making grandiose claims, claiming it will be the company’s first “real” flagship phone. It has now formally unveiled the phone’s chipset.

Nothing affirmed that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor will power the Nothing Phone 3. This is consistent with a leak made earlier today by tipster Yogesh Brar. However, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is Qualcomm’s top chipset, not the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 has a scaled-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s GPU and does not use Qualcomm’s potent Oryon CPU technology. Stated differently, you shouldn’t anticipate that the Nothing Phone 3 will outperform gadgets such as the Samsung Galaxy S25.

Additionally, Qualcomm’s chip does not support mmWave 5G, 4K/120fps slow-motion video, or 8K video recording. These are significant reductions for a flagship Android phone that will be available in the US, but they aren’t substantial omissions overall.

However, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4’s connectivity features—namely, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, and XPAN—continue to make it stand out. The latter feature provides higher-quality wireless audio at a greater range by allowing you to use compatible headphones or earbuds over Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth.
