Earlier we had some news about Xiaomi sub-brand already began working on next smartphone with Redmi 5G phone. We also had few rumours about the Redmi 5G phone would cost cheaper than many other smartphones.
Now we have new leaks coming in from China which confirms that Redmi is currently working on the new Redmi 5G phone. Further, the source also reveals that the first Redmi 5G phone will be using the MediaTek chipset. Sadly, the source didn’t specify the exact chipset details.
So indirectly we can confirm that apart from Redmi K30 series the new Redmi 5G phone might use the latest MediaTek Helio M70 modem. Anyway, there are few reports about the first 5G phone from Redmi is scheduled for 2020 launch and we can’t expect the Redmi 5G phone will launch anytime soon.
